Apron On.

At the beginning of April, I started working part time at a local teahouse in West Berkeley called Blue Willow Teaspot.

Ali Roth opened the teahouse over a year and a half ago. She's been running the wholesale side of Blue Willow for much, much longer including working with the previous owner before taking it over on her retirement. I really respect what Ali has put together and accomplished and I'm excited to be part of the team! I have so much to learn about Japanese teas especially. It's a real gap in my tea knowledge. Same with perfecting matcha lattes! Lots to learn.

I've been trying to figure out a new schedule for continuing to work on my posts here, especially some of the longer and research-based posts I have in the works like the next installment of my thrift store gongfu cha series.

I'll still be working on updating the SF Bay Tea Calendar, continuing to read and review tea books (and wow, I've read some crazy ones lately), and updating my Tea Resources Map with info about tea locales around the Bay as I continue to visit them.

In the meantime, you can come in and see me Thursday-Saturdays at the shop or at select tea events around the Bay Area!
